March 17, Owen Cyclery participated in a new and potentially reoccurring event, The Blessing of the Bikes. The bike blessing took place at Signal Mountain Methodist Church, from 12-2p.
While the turnout was small, due to bad weather, it was a great opportunity to reach the community and educate individuals on bike safety.
The blessing of the bikes was a time for church and community members to come out for free bike safety checks, and start a relationship with other cyclists in the area, in addition to Pastor Pitkin praying over the cyclists and their bikes for the blessing of safety and friendship.
We look forward to participating in more bike blessings in the future.
